ROCK, WV (WVVA) - WVVA is proud to join Cole Chevrolet to honor students and teachers of the Two Virginias.

December's Student of the Month is Brieanna Skeens, a Sophomore at Montcalm High School.

Brieanna is a member of the key club and says she wants to pursue a career in Criminal Law or Criminal Psychology.

Her teachers say she's a star student - but she was actually surprised to receive this recognition!

"I didn't expect that, that's for sure," she told WVVA. "I thought I was graduating high school when they came to my house with the certificate - then I remembered I was only a Sophomore."

"She's the type of student that makes you enjoy coming to work every day, but inspires you to learn additional methods and push her in an even better direction," said Montcalm High School Science Teacher, Tracey O'Donnell. "She's going places, and it's nothing, in my opinion, that we have done; she is intrinsically motivated. She wants to do better, so she does better. She is just the epitome of excellence."

Congratulations, Brieanna!
