FAIRLEA W. VA. (WVVA) - The State Fair of West Virginia has scheduled the 2021 state fair despite the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
Leaders with the fair say they always begin planning the fair in mid- January.
This announcement comes after the state fair of 2020 was cancelled.
As of right now, they do have the fair scheduled with no changes made for the pandemic.
Kelly Collins, the CEO of the State Fair of West Virginia, said they are prepared to make adjustments for the COVID-19 pandemic as needed.
"We know there's possibility, a very good possibility, that we're going to have to have social distancing and mask mandates and such; so, we don't know what's going to happen in the next seven to eight months," said Collins. "So we're just going to go with it and see what we need to do. We're always going to take advice for from the CDC as well as our state and local health officials."
The 2021 State Fair is currently scheduled for August 12-21.
