BECKLEY W. VA. (WVVA) - Hospice of Southern West Virginia is looking for volunteers. The volunteers are needed to assist with home visits and in house.
They will provide patient and family support as well as respite care.
Carol Brown, the Volunteer Coordinator said they have lost some volunteers due to COVID-19. She adds while this extra assistance is always needed, it is especially important during the pandemic.
"We need volunteers all the time, but it's crucial that we have volunteers during this time, again, for patient support and the famiily suppot that they offer," said Brown. "Volunteers, they provide so much more than what the community really knows."
Brown said they're following all CDC guidelines to keep all volunteers, residents and employees safe.
People can sign up to volunteer by going to Hospice of Southern West Virginia's website.
