More than three thousand winter items were collected for West Virginia students over the course of two weeks.
This came as a pleasant surprise to the Education Alliance, which had the initial goal of collecting 400 coats.
The organizations CEO, Ameila Courts, says she is proud of the response that came from communities across the mountain state, to keep students warm during these winter months.
"I think by sharing these 3,000 items with West Virginia students that are in need, we're going to really be making a different in the communities where we are serving," said Courts
People were able to make cash donations.
Any money left over will be going back into communities through a number of local organizations.
This will allow that money to go into programs and items that are needed within those areas.
