GILES COUNTY (WVVA) - Rt. 460 in Giles County is closed again after a Sunday mudslide blocked both lanes of the highway.

One eastbound lane of 460 was reopened Sunday night, but has since been closed after rainfall caused the mudslide to move, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Eastbound and westbound lanes are again detouring around the closure.

Small passenger vehicles can use Route 649 (Lurich Road).  All other vehicles, including commercial and recreational vehicles, will need to use Route 61 and Interstate 77 as detour routes.

VDOT officials say there is no estimated time frame for completing the clean-up and repairs, or reopening Rt. 460.

Stick with WVVA as we continue to monitor this developing story.
