BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - Bluefield State baseball earns its first win of the season over state-line rival, Bluefield College, 6-4 on Tuesday.

The Rams grabbed an early 4-0 lead, thanks in part to a two-run Clay Wisner home run.

However, the Big Blue responded with a pair of RBI groundouts to slice the deficit in half after three. Then, Taylor Tibbs unleashed a two-run homer of his own to tie things up in the fourth.

The visitors on the scoreboard picked up one in the fifth and one in the ninth to seal the win.

Bluefield State (1-3) earns it first win of the season -- also the first win for new head coach Drew Bailey. Bluefield College falls to 2-4 on the young season.

Both teams return to action on the road this Thursday.
