WEST VIRGINIA (WVVA) - The Mountain State is moving into the next round of vaccine distribution - phase 2A.

Governor Jim Justice made the announcement during a Wednesday press briefing.

Phase 2A includes all West Virginians 50 and up, teachers and school service personnel above 40, and the high risk population with chronic medical conditions. That includes anyone 16 and older with one of the conditions listed above.

"We're gonna jump back and try to take care of our kids that have real health issues," Justice said. "Because we see them at risk, too."

The Pfizer vaccine is approved for people 16 and up while the Moderna and Johnson&Johnson shots are recommended for those who are 18 and older.
