A man wanted for the murder of a transgender woman is caught in a rural section of Fayette County.
Gary Lamar Sanders, 36, of East Cleveland, Ohio was arrested Thursday morning in Robson, WV. Sanders is accused in the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Phylicia Mitchell. The shooting took place on February 24 in Cleveland over an apparent drug debt.
Sanders was arrested by members of CUFFED (Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division) Task Force, comprised of Deputy U.S. Marshals, West Virginia Parole Officers, and Raleigh County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Sanders is charged with a fugitive from justice and faces extradition back to Ohio.
