TRAFFIC ALERT: Paving to being Friday on Route 219

Drivers can expect major delays starting Friday on a section of U.S. Route 219 in Greenbrier and Monroe counties.

Highway crews will be begin the resurfacing project just north of Neff Orchard Road in the Monitor community and south of CR 63 in Organ Cave.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Flagging personnel and a pilot truck will be on-site.

Two lanes will be open during the night and on Sundays, however, passing will be prohibited in the work zone during off hours.

Highways officials anticipate the project to be completed on July 21.
