State Fair of WV holds barn decorating contest

(Fairlea) The State Fair of West Virginia is holding its 8th annual Christmas decorating contest.

Participants have the chance to decorate one of ten harness racing barns located adjacent to Route 219 North. Once all decorations are in place on Saturday night, pictures will be posted to the state fair Facebook page and anyone can vote for the “People’s Choice” award.

Ellen Dillonwho works in administration at the State Fair of West Virginia said, “Corporations do it. Businesses do it. Or even just families. We have a family that does it every year. And it’s just fun. It adds a little bit of light to the fair when nothing is going on and it’s neat to see Christmas lights when you drive by- I mean who doesn’t love Christmas lights?”

It is free to sign up. If you want to decorate Ellen says there are still two more barns left.
