The “Holiday of Lights” show wrapped up in Bluefield on New Years Day and the city says the show was a success.

But there were a few challenges, mostly weather related.

The lights show was closed down for about 6 days due to inclement weather conditions, which might have impacted the amount of visitors.

Almost 35,000 people attended the lights show this year, which is about 6,000 less than last year.

The City of Bluefield is already making plans for the lights show in 2019 and they’re hoping even more people will attend.

“I think the community will be extremely pleased with what 2019 brings,” said Marie Blackwell, Ambassador for the City of Bluefied.
