(RALEIGH COUNTY) 99 years! That’s how long the Beckley Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce has been in existence and welcoming people from the community to the annual dinner.
“It’s a great opportunity especially if you’re new in the community. If you know people, and you haven’t seen them in a while it’s a great networking opportunity,” Ellen Taylor, President and CEO of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce said.
Tonight’s guest speaker was West Virginia Governor, Jim Justice. This year’s community service award went to the Carter Family Foundation.
“They’ve given about $10 million to this community over the past 40 years, and they have just done some wonderful things,” Taylor explained.
Working with the chamber for over 25 years, Taylor said the annual dinner and the chamber would not continue if it weren’t for teamwork. “Working with volunteers and good staff and a great board that just makes it even better,” Taylor added.
