A Mercer County man found guilty of kidnapping in October has been sentenced!

Harry Lee Smith is facing life without mercy for kidnapping charges and is not eligible for parole.

Smith was sentenced Monday afternoon at the Mercer County Courthouse.

Last year, police say Smith was armed on his porch and held a woman hostage, using her as a shield.

Officers found a pistol, bag of duct tape, zip ties, a machete, and a club at the scene.

Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney George Sitler says if you do the crime, you should expect to do the time!

“Harry Lee Smith committed a very serious offense and terrorized a family in their home,” said Sitler. “It’s a serious offense that deserves the maximum penalty under the law.”

Smith was also found guilty on three counts of wanton endangerment and breaking and entering.
