First day back at school for Mercer County students

With sharpened pencils and fresh books, students in Mercer County ended summer and headed to the first day back at school this morning.

For Bluefield Middle School student, Dawayne Adams, the first day of 6th grade was a breeze. He said he got lucky enough to have a teacher who doesn’t give homework!

The Mercer County school district is one of the first in the state to go back to school for the year.
