ZEBULON, NC (NBC NEWS) Severe weather in central North Carolina left behind a path of destruction.

The worst part of the storm hit Wake County, where heavy winds and rain knocked down trees, power lines and damaged several homes.

The area was under a tornado warning at the time of the storm. But it has since been lifted.

Thousands of people are without power, as the threat of more severe weather continues.

So far, no injuries have been reported.
