A huge development tonight for fans of the annual matchup this fall between Bluefield and Graham high schools. There will be no tailgating on the West Virginia side of the parking area.
But the Bluefield preservation society, a West Virginia organization, is holding a tailgating event in Virginia at Bluefield City Park, operated by the city of Bluefield. According to city of Bluefield Police Chief Dennis Dillow, they’re calling it "the tailgate of the Two Virginias."
It even appears there may be a beer garden of sorts. An admission fee will be charged and IDs will be checked.
But Chief Dillow says on the West Virginia side, it’ll be a whole different story. He emphasized there will be no drinking allowed in the stadium parking lot.
