BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce staff were hard at work Wednesday training the next generation of leaders at the Weathered Underground in Cool Ridge.
Participants in the 2018 Leadership Beckley program will undergo several weeks of training which started Wednesday, that will include crash courses on subjects such as business development, tourism, and city and county government.
For each session, the participants will be meeting at different locations such as the Boy Scout Summit and local hospitals to get insight on how each agency operates.
“As we’ve seen from the first class, there are already leaders across our community serving on boards and communities. We’re hoping that continues with our second class,” said Information Coordinator Joe Guffy.
The training is sponsored by the law offices of Pullin, Fowler, and Flanagan, Brown and Poe, and United Bank.
