County Clerk’s Office receives $22,000 grant, Mercer County

The Mercer County Clerk’s Office has been awarded $22,000 through the” Help America Vote Act” grant.

Mercer County Commissioners approved the action last month, so the County Clerks can improve the current voting system.

“We have to maintain voter integrity,” said Verlin Moye, Mercer County Clerk. “Your vote does matter and it must be protected, by law.”

The grant will help to address one major concern for some voters, cyber security threats.

“It will enable use to upgrade our cyber security by purchasing a new server,” Moye said. “We’re always looking to upgrade our integrity and improve the security of our elections.”

The grant will also be used towards buying security cameras for the voting garage and new windows before the November elections.
