UPDATE: Wanted man caught in Greenbrier County

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVVA) A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Greenbrier County has been located.

Jeffery L. Blackburn, 33, of Rainelle was arrested on Wednesday near Lewisburg, according to Sheriff Bruce Sloan.

Blackburn was charged with malicious wounding in connection with a shooting Monday night in Charmco. Steven Dunn, 41, suffered a single gunshot wound was was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment.

Blackburn was taken to Southern Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.

Lorne Atkins 48, of Rainelle, WV was arrested the day of the shooting on a charge of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, Greenbrier County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and Rainelle Police Department assisted in Blackburn’s arrest.

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WVVA) The search is underway for a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of a Greenbrier County man.

According to Sheriff Bruce Sloan, the shooting took place at 10:38 p.m. Monday at a residence on Rock Street in Charmco. One man, Steven Dunn, 41, suffered a single gunshot wound. He was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment.

A warrant has been issued for Jeffery L. Blackburn, 33, of Rainelle, WV. He is charged with malicious wounding. If you have any information on Blackburn’s whereabouts, you are urged to call the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office at 304-647-6634 or 304-392-6320.

Lorne Atkins, 48, of Rainelle, WV has been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with the shooting.

The West Virginia State Police and the Charleston Police Department are assisting in the investigation.
