-RAW VIDEO: 3 rescued from abandoned Raleigh County coal mine
UPDATE: WVVA News has learned one of the men who escaped a Raleigh County mine had a prior arrest for breaking into a mine.
Eddie Duane Williams was indicted in May of 2018 for , Destruction of Property, and Grand Larceny, and Trespassing.
The theft occurred on January 19 at mine owned by Alpha Natural Resources. According to court documents, 60 feet of copper wire valued at $1,216 was stolen.
Williams’ case from May has not gone to trial yet.

Mine rescue teams spent four days searching for Kayla Williams, 25, of Artie, WV, Erica Treadway, 31, of Pax, WV and Cody Beverly, 21, of Dorothy, WV. The exhaustive search paid off culminating into Christmas miracle for the tight-knit community.
Another man, Eddie Williams, 43, of Artie, WV made his way out of the coal mine on Monday.
