Beckley business makes Hep A vaccine mandatory for employees

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) A Beckley business is making it mandatory for employees to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A.

The General Mgr. of Golden Corral on Eisenhower Drive released the following statement on Wednesday:

“We thought it was our responsibility to our valued guests and crew to take proactive steps to stem the tide of Hepatitis A. The safety of the community is a top priority at Golden Corral. We have not had any cases of Hep A. We’re simply taking every available precaution while making sure our community has peace of mind while dining with us.”

In addition to current employees, the manager said all future employees will be required to be vaccinated against Hep A as a requirement for employment.

As of December 21, 2018, more than 118 people in Raleigh County have tested positive for the virus, according to the Dept. of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).

Golden Corral in Beckley is locally owned and operated by Eddie Torrico.
