(Lewisburg) The Lewis Theatre in Lewisburg is showing the movie “Green Book” this weekend.
After the showing on Sunday the theatre will host a panel to discuss segregation in the South during the Jim Crow era. The movie is set before the Civil Rights Act was passed.
Wanda Johnson who will be on the panel said, “We’re gonna talk about the negro motorist green book, which was formed in 1936. Which went about where blacks, African Americans had to travel certain routes because they weren’t allowed in certain hotels, restaurants or on [certain] roads.”
Green Book will show at 7 PM on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday the movie will show at 4 PM with the panel discussion directly following the showing.
