UPDATE: A Raleigh County man was placed under arrest Tuesday in connection with a shooting that happened Sunday night.
According to a release from deputies, Cory Adkins, 18, of Beaver, was charged with the murder of Robert Stone at a residence on Riley Street in Whitby. He was also charged with Malicious Wounding in the shooting of a Tyler West.
Adkins is being held in Southern Regional Jail (SRJ) without bond.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Dept. is handling the investigation.
(WVVA) One person is dead and two others are hospitalized in a weekend shooting in Raleigh County.
It happened around 11 p.m. Sunday at a home on Riley Street in Coal City. According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, three people were shot during an altercation. All three were hospitalized.
“One person has passed away as a result of his injuries and the other two remain hospitalized. The Sheriff’s Office is still in the process of interviewing people and the investigation is ongoing at this time.” -Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.
WHITBY, W.Va. (WVVA) Three people were taken to the hospital after a shooting in Raleigh County on Sunday night.
According to dispatch, the call came in at 10:55 p.m. to a residence on Riley Street in Whitby.
Several law enforcement agencies responded due to subjects involved fleeing from Raleigh County to Beckley. They were the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Dept., State Police, Beckley City Police, and Sophia Police Dept.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Dept. is taking the lead on the investigation.
Right now, there’s no word yet on the condition of the individuals involved or whether any arrests have been made.
