Southern West Virginia is getting a creative writing retreat

(Lewisburg) A creative writing retreat is popping up in Lewisburg.

The idea of the weekend long retreat at Lee Street Studios is to learn about and share writing. Teachers are Leaf Seligman, a professor at Keene State College in New Hampshire, and Sarah Elkins a writer, poet and the regional representative of West Virginia Writers, the state -wide organization for writers in West Virginia. Elkins said, “What inspired me was I’ve been toying with this idea of bringing more writing opportunities to southern West Virginia. I’ve been to some writing retreats in West Virginia but they all seem to be up north.

Registration for the retreat is open now.
