A recent lodging study says tourism in Mercer County is booming and the market is on the right track to keep growing.

The lodging study was conducted by Randall Travel Marketing for the Mercer County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The study took an in-depth look at lodging in Mercer County, defining visitor segments that drive occupancy in the area, while providing an overall picture of what’s driving the county’s lodging industry.

“Lodging from visitors coming from out of town in 2018 was a $17 million dollar business, just in hotel sales,” said Judy Randall, President and CEO of RTM.

Randall reports the overall total spending including retail for Mercer County every year is $42 million.

“How many other industries do you have in Mercer County that bring in $42 million every year,” said Randall. “$42 million makes it one of your top industries in the county.”
