Day one of attempted murder trial, Mercer County

The trial has begun for a Bluefield man believed to have hit a woman over the head with a blunt object.

Stacy Burrell appeared in Judge Mark Wills courtroom as the Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney’s presented their witnesses.

Burrell is facing charges for attempted murder and malicious wounding for an incident that occurred in 2017.

He is believed to be the responsible party, for hitting a woman over the head with a blunt object.

Burrell’s trial will continue on Friday morning in the Mercer County Courthouse Annex building.
