PRINCETON (WVVA) — The 2020 Election is quickly approaching, and the gubernatorial race has already started for one candidate.

Democratic candidate Stephen Smith, of Charleston, spoke with Mercer County residents at Appalachian Coffee House in Princeton Wednesday evening.

For the last six years, Smith has served as Director of the West Virginia Healthy Kids and Families Coalition.

He says he wants to tap into the state’s wealth, and added that one of his goals is to rewrite the tax code to stop giving all the breaks to out-of-state interests.

He’s continuing to tour all 55 counties to speak with, and listen to, as many West Virginians as possible.
