Members of Immanuel Baptist Church went without food for 30 hours. They did it on purpose and they did it for a good cause.
The 30 hour fast helps raise awareness, food items and money for those who go hungry every day.
Participants are split into groups and compete to collect the most food items and donations for the cause. They also go into the community and do good deeds in any way they see fit. The winning team gets to break their fast with a steak dinner!
All of the food items collected will be distributed to Princeton Tender Mercies and the Bluefield Union Mission next week. The goal this year was 15,000 food items.
