Gas prices on the rise, National average up 10 cents

You might have noticed some inflated numbers at the gas pump this month.

Fuel prices are soaring across the country, setting record highs in some parts of the region.

Experts say there’s no “one” definite reason for the price surge, but gas demand increases this time of year due to thousands of people hitting the roads for the Easter holiday and spring break.

AAA says pump prices on the West Coast have increased nearly 20 cents, driving the national average up nearly 10 cents to $2.83 this week.

Gas prices are the most expensive they’ve ever been in almost five years, so AAA is offering cost-effective tips to keep your bank account away from empty.
