(WVVA) The City of Bluefield Community and Economic Development Department has patterned with the Small Business Administration to host the “Boots to Business: Reboot” one-day training.

The event is happening Thursday, April 25, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., at the Bluefield Area Transit Facility on John Nash Boulevard.

The training is free and open to public and will include a lunch provided by the city.

The one-day training will help current and future business owners evaluate their ideas and plans, offering tools and knowledge to help launch and reboot a successful business.

The training was originally designed for Veterans but is now open to anyone with an interest in starting a business or a company currently in business for two years or less.

“You could be the world’s best plumber but there’s a lot more to offer than just being a plumber,” said Jim Spencer, Community and Economic Development Director for the City of Bluefield. “You’ve got to get insurance and marketing, all the other parts of running a business. This training is to try and help fill those gaps for people who are starting a business or for those with a business and need a little bit of help.”

For more information about the training, contact Kimberly Donahue at (304) 347-5220 or Jim Spencer at (304) 324-2401, ext. 2405.
