MERCER COUNTY, WV (WVVA) The suspect accused in the murder of a man whose body was found over the weekend in Mercer County will be held without bond.

Christopher Wyatt Bailey, 27, is charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery in the shooting death of William L. Simons, 41, of Pipestem, WV.

Simons’ body was found Sunday near a vehicle on Dawson School Road. It appears he was shot multiple times the night before.

During Bailey’s arraignment, Judge Mark Wills said “the victim was found face down with several gunshot wounds to his body. So, not proper to have bond.”

The investigation is ongoing.
