TAZEWELL, VA (WVVA) Since 2005, the Tazewell County Drug Court has helped more than 300 people with drug-related charges get another chance at a better life.

An appreciation luncheon was held Monday in Tazewell to recognize community partners whose assistance ensures the success of the drug court program.

“So, every life we turn around, it really affects their children, their parents, their siblings, and their employers,” said Judge Chip Hurley. “It affects probably 40 to 60 people. So, it is a large part of the population that can get touched over a period of a year or two. We do our best to try to give them a true second chance.”
