Residents are continuing to express concerns about Route 112, after the West Virginia Division of Highways shut down a portion of the road for the second time this year.

We spoke with a DOH worker who confirmed, there are concerns about the area of the mountain where the mudslide occurred, coming down, due to water saturation sliding dirt off the top of the rocks.

The damage is also impacting Country Girl Road and has forced the DOH to close down the portion of Route 112 that provides direct access for many Ada residents to Bluefield.

The West Virginia Division of Highways has placed signage along Route 112, stating a portion of the road is closed, giving access to only local traffic.

The DOH opened Route 112 after two months of construction, following a mudslide in February, and this has some residents questioning if the road will be fully closed again.
