UPDATE: Troopers release name of woman killed by train in McDowell County

MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (WVVA) Authorities have released the name of the woman who was struck and killed by a train in Iaeger.

According to Sgt. R. A. Daniel with the West Virginia State Police, Misty Ann Lane, 36, of Brenton, Wyoming County died from injuries she received in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

The state medical examiner’s office was able to determine Lane’s identity with a fingerprint check through NCIC. Her next of kin was notified on Thursday.

“I would like to thank the media in their assistance and to the public for contacting this office for inquiries of their family or friends,” said Sgt. Daniel. “Further notifications were also made to those persons to inform them the identity had been made and that it was not their loved one.”

MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (WVVA) Trooper have identified a woman who was struck and killed by a train in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

The “Jane Doe” was identified through a fingerprint search of the NCIC database, according to Sgt. R. A. Daniel with the West Virginia State Police. Sgt. Daniel said her name will not be released to the public until they can notify next of kin.

The Northfolk Southern train was traveling westbound at the time the woman was hit.
