Senator Manchin reads a letter from retired West Virginia miner

Washington, D.C. (WVVA) U.S. Senator Joe Manchin took the floor today to read a letter from a West Virginian, Delbert.

The letter stated that Delbert relies on his pension to live in retirement and support his family. Pay for basic utilities and cover medical expenses.

Senator Manchin shared his story to urge his Senate colleagues to pass the American Miners Act so that miners across the United States would have secure pensions and healthcare, two programs they were promised when they powered America with coal.
