(MT. HOPE, WV) Come Saturday, the historic Mount Hope Municipal Stadium will become the home of the Jubilee Band Jam.
The concert is put on by Harmony for Hope. The non-profit organization is aimed at uniting southern West Virginia communities through music and art. Funds from the event will benefit the music programs at area schools.
The Charleston Metro Band along with marching bands from Oak Hill High School, Oak Hill Middle School and Independence High School will perform. The event will be held in conjunction with the Mount Hope Jubilee.
“Music is one of those things where it moves someone. It gives you an experience and it’s also something that ties you culturally to the area and I think that’s something that Jubilee Band Jam showcases our cultural heritage that we all share and that we are all coming together at. So we’re going to be able to do that with this showcase,” Executive Director, Carrie A. Kidd said. “For these kids it’s a really good thing because it can help them get into to college help them get through school and just help them find different things out of their lives that they didn’t realize they could use music in their future.”
The gates will open at 4 pm. The concert will began at 5:30 pm.
