Two accused of stealing from church in Beckley

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) – Two people are accused of entering First Church of Nazarene and stealing multiple items.

According to the Beckley Police, a bit after 2 am on Saturday, 18-year-old Joshua Daniel Syner of Mankin Avenue in Beckley and an unnamed 17-year old female juvenile drew suspicion after an officer spotted them running along Johnstown Road and then hiding in the bushes.

Police say the suspects were in possession of  stolen items from the First Church of Nazarene in Beckley.

The juvenile was released to a family member. Syner is being held at Southern Regional Jail on charges of entering without breaking, obstructing an officer and fleeing an officer on foot.

All of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the church.
