Winter break was long for the Lady Mountain Lions, but they kept busy with a handful of games. After defeating Davis & Elkins and Salem by a combined 23 points, the team now sits at 8-3 on the year. However, head coach Kenny Osborne knows how crucial the remaining two games of this homestand will be to the group’s continued success.

“I’ve talked to the kids about — if you’re going to have really good years you’ve got to win about 80 percent of your home games,” he said. “So far we’ve only had the one loss against Charleston and we’ve had some wins at home. We’ve got to continue our ability to win at home and we have to take advantage of that against Shepherd and Fairmont here.”

Tip-off against Shepherd on Thursday night from Athens is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
