The PGA Tour event held at America’s Resort has a tradition of extending invitations to golf’s top amateurs. In the past, West Virginia’s amateur champion and the winner of the Fred Haskins Award — the equivalent of golf’s Heisman Trophy — have earned a spot in the tournament field.

On Monday, The Greenbrier announced that the winner of the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship will receive an exemption into this year’s A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier. The conference championship will be held at The Old White TPC from April 26-28.

“Our men’s golf programs could not be more appreciative of the opportunity for the Big 12 Championship individual medalist to earn a spot in The Greenbreir’s PGA Tour even,” Big 12 associate commissioner Jeff Jackson said. “What a fitting way to link the rich history of Big 12 men’s golf with the prestige of The Greenbreir.”

This year’s A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier will be held from September 9-15, 2019.
