On Wednesday, Graham’s starting point guard announced his commitment to continue playing basketball at King University.
Baker finished his career as a starter with a 68-15 overall record. As a senior, he averaged 14 points, seven rebounds and 7 assists. He was also named Southwest District Player of the Year and First-Team All-Region 2D.
He hopes that his success can inspire other local athletes to reach for a dream of playing collegiate athletics.
“We’re hoping to show the younger guys, maybe even the middle schoolers, that it’s possible to get recruited in this small town and go on to bigger things and play college ball,” he said.
“I think we’re fortunate to have Cam Allen and Drew this year that have given kids the idea that we can make it from Graham High School,” Drew’s father and coach, Todd Baker, said. “We can make a difference.”
