Despite bowing out in the first round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament in February, both Bluefield College basketball squads earned their way into the NCCAA national tournament this week.

Both teams earned four seeds and tipped-off against Grace College (IN) on Wednesday night. The Lady Rams were blitzed in the first half, as Grace led 43-18 at the break. The women scored 34 points in the second half, but still fell 88-52. Danae Cox led BC with 12 points.

The men, however, advanced to the semifinal round with a 77-74 victory over the Lancers. Jorge Concepcion III and Niquan Cousins combined for 39 points in the win. The Rams will play Cedarville tomorrow at 5:15 p.m. for a spot in the championship.
