Chris Spease and Caleb Fritz will continue their academic and athletic careers with the Flying Eagles. Both signed their National Letters of Intent on Friday afternoon.

Spease will be part of the first baseball team at Southwest, while Fritz, a 2019 state champion in the 132 pound weight class, will wrestle on the Flying Eagles’ inaugural wrestling squad.

“I really like [head coach Joey Stiltner],” Fritz said. “I want to be in the community and wrestle still.”

“I really like the coaching staff,” Spease added. “And coming from middle school, we didn’t have a [baseball] program, so it was new. It was nice to help start something like that, and I felt that at Southwest.”

Both young men intend to study environmental science, as well.
