Tuesday marked the final day of pool play for the 2019 Coppinger Baseball Tournament.

Greater Beckley began the evening by playing host to Bluefield at Bowen Field. The Beavers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. They went on to win 6-1.

Immediately following that game, Honaker and Summers County squared off. The score was all tied heading to the third inning, but three runs from the Bobcats changed that. That frame put the visitors on a roll, as they went on to win 13-2.

In Princeton, Richlands and Woodrow Wilson played the nightcap at Hunnicutt Field. The Flying Eagles’ Austin Amtower crushed a lead-off home run to set the tone. The Blue Tornado defense kept the game low-scoring, but Woodrow still prevailed, 5-3.

Wednesday’s schedule is now set:

At Bowen Field:

Richlands vs. Bluefield @ 5 p.m.

Tazewell vs. Summers County @ 7:30 p.m.

At Hunnicutt Field:

Woodrow Wilson vs. Princeton @ 5 p.m.

Graham vs. James Monroe @ 7:30 p.m.
