On Wednesday, one of PikeView’s softball standouts made her college decision official.
Katie Richardson signed on to continue her academic and athletic career as a Glenville State Pioneer. Richardson is a two-time captain for the Lady Panthers and has contributed both on the mound and at the plate this season. But, on a day of personal accomplishment, she took time to thank all the people in her life that helped her realize her goal of playing collegiate softball.
“I know a lot of girls that I’ve played softball with before,” she said. “They’ve never had this opportunity to keep on playing and just keep your career going.”
“I’m just really thankful I have a mom and dad who really supports me in everything that I do,” Richardson continued. “And being at a school that’s so supportive of me and my journey…”
Richardson hopes to study athletic training when she arrives at school this fall.
