There were a number of elimination games in West Virginia high school baseball playoffs on Friday.
At Bowen Field, Bluefield and James Monroe rematched in a Class AA Region 3, Section 2 battle. The Mavs took control in the middle innings and cruised to a 17-3 victory.
James Monroe will travel to Shady Spring for the sectional championship on Saturday a Noon.
In Class A Region 3, Section 2, Greenbrier West earned some redemption against Summers County, 13-7. The Cavaliers will play Greater Beckley for a sectional crown on Saturday at Noon.
In Class AA, Region 3, Section 1, Wyoming East eliminated Liberty from the playoffs, 10-6. The Warriors will host another elimination game against Independence on Saturday at 2 p.m.
In Class AAA Region 3, Section 2, Riverside forced a winner-take-all game for a sectional title after an 11-5 defeat of Woodrow Wilson. The two teams will play again on Saturday at 1 p.m.
