After taking a game off of each other in the regular season, Shady Spring and Oak Hill matched up in the Class AA Region 3 championship.

The Red Devils dug themselves a deep hole in the first inning, as Noel Sizemore blasted a two-run home run just moments into the game. A few batters later, Drew Clark put one over the fence for a three-run homer, giving Shady Spring a 5-0 lead.

Oak Hill pieced together a few hits in the early innings, but never turned them into runs. Shady Spring’s Tommy Williams pitched another complete game, shutting out the Red Devils.

The Tigers would win in six innings, 10-0. They will have a chance to win the series at home on Tuesday night.

In Class A, Greater Beckley and Charleston Catholic held each other scoreless for a while. Then the Irish scored three runs in fourth and sixth innings, going on to win 6-1. The series comes to Beckley on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
