On Sunday afternoon, the Princeton Rays hosted the Bluefield Blue Jays for game one of the Mercer Cup series.

Despite traveling into enemy territory, the Blue Jays took control of the game early, jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the 4th inning.

Princeton would finally get on the scoreboard in the 5th inning, but one run wouldn’t get the job done. After nine innings of play, the Blue Jays were victorious by a score of 7-1.

The Rays will have a chance even the series on Monday when they host the Blue Jays at 6:30pm.
