WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va (WVVA) — An American flag jumpsuit, a pair of Daly shorts and a trio of Mountaineer football greats. It’s a combination that can only be four at the Pro-Am of A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier.

Fifty-two professionals took to the course on Wednesday to play with the amateurs — some who are or were professional athletes in their own right.

For some, the day provided a first full look at the course, while others were just glad to be back.

“My first time here,” said professional golfer Branden Grace. “It’s a great golf course. It gives you that old school feeling. You have to shape it a little bit around this place. It’s one of those courses — if you play well you’re going to score well.”

“This is my second year coming back,” added NASCAR driver Ty Dillon. “Just beautiful weather and a beautiful course. I always love playing golf, although I’m not the best at it. But, when you get to play here and play with the pros — we had a great day with Danny Lee. I think we had a good day, we ended up 15-under.”

It’s a score most pros would be happy to finish with come the end of the tournament. The First Round gets underway at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday.
